Momentum
Momentum can be defined as mass in motion. two factors effect momentum mass and velocity. If an object is not moving, it does not have momentum. In terms of an equation, the momentum of a puppy is equal to its mass times its velocity.
Momentum = mass x velocity.
As a puppy is running it has momentum. In physics the symbol for the quantity momentum is the lower case p. So the equation can be re-writen as p=m x v

If a small poodle and a large greatdane are running at the same velocity, which dog has the greater momentum?
The greatdane
If the large greatdane was resting in his bed, not moving what would his momentum be?
Zero
